Just a Thought: You don’t have to have your very own guardian angel because you already have many angels who guard you. I hear people speak of (sometimes joking sometimes serious) their guardian angel. Well, they are not completely wrong. We do not have just one guardian angel assigned to us. But the Lord has dispatched His holy angels to be guards of us and around us who have put their trust in the Lord. Personal guardian angels are not scripturally supported. However, we do have this scriptural promise we can cling to. “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;” (Ps 91:11) Angels are real! Over 273 times in the Bible we find them carrying out the will of God. The Bible actually gives us a great deal of knowledge about angels. They carry out God’s will (Ps. 103:20). They worship God (Isa. 6:3, Rev. 4:6, 8-9, 5:8-9, 11-12). They minister to the saints (Heb. 1:7, 14). They protect the children of God (Ps. 91:11-12). They strengthen and encourage the people of God (Acts 27:23-24). They are messengers from God (Lk. 1:19). Did you know God used angels to deliver the Ten Commandments to Moses (Acts 7:38b, 53; Gal. 3:19; Heb. 2:2). This is just a brief example of how much we can know and learn about angels from God’s word. But, for today, the one thing we need to know is God is taking care of us, and He is using His holy angels to do it. They are all around us and we are safer because of it! So, we should give God thanksgiving and praise for sending His angels to watch over and protect us every day. And for this reason, you don’t have to have your very own guardian angel because you already have many angels who guard you. We don’t worship angels. But we are to thank God for them. Lord, thank you for sending Your holy angels to surround us, protect us watch over us and help us. I am thankful for the security and safety they provide me with. May I never abuse this glorious truth through carless living. But, in all things be grateful to You Lord that You have taken such grand steps to care for me. In Jesus name, amen.
