Tanglewood Community Church supports the following local missions, distributing 25% of our monthly income to them. Some of our church members also volunteer their time, love, and support to these ministries.
New Testament Church and Mission
In 1976, a vision was given to founders Mike & Pat Karl, and that is what brought the rescue mission to Sebring, Florida. The New Testament Church and Mission began the works that the Lord had envisioned for them, which was to reach out to the down and out, addicted, hungry, homeless, lost, lonely and destitute. The vision has continued to grow. They have fed over 1.6 million meals, housed over 780,000 individuals and have given out more food baskets than they can account for. Their mission remains the same today. To help turn the hearts of man to Jesus one plate, one bed or one prayer at a time. To help provide solutions that make long lasting differences To encourage, to give a hand up not a hand out. All while leading them to Jesus.
Seeing a need in the community 47 years ago to where they are today has been a journey and all thanks to the Lord and the helping hands of amazing givers like TWCC! The Mission provides a food pantry, hot meals and emergency shelter. Donations and volunteers are always needed.

2nd Chance Ministry & The Little Lambs School of Bible Discipleship Training
2nd Chance Ministry is a one year, residential, drug and alcohol recovery program started in August 2021 in Sebring. This program is a Christian, one year, residential, drug and alcohol recovery program which is free to anyone who is dedicated to changing their life and is willing to do the work of recovery. Little Lambs will be involved in their spiritual program as well.
The Little Lambs School of the Bible Discipleship Training Course is an intensive correspondence Bible study course available for free, to any inmate who may be interested. Each student enrolled in the bible study program receives personal attention by way of comments, encouragement, cards and love. A certificate of completion is rewarded after every 4 lessons. After an inmate completes the 16th and final study, he or she will receive a letter of congratulations and a graduation diploma, as well as a new study Bible, as a gift for their faithfulness. Graduation can take up to 2 years, though the average student graduates after 18 months. This time is used to disciple, mentor and teach. Currently, post pandemic they are trying a 1000 man student body. Through these studies, minds are renewed, lives are changed and the majority of students experience a love and power they have never known before.
Church Service Center
Church Service Center, in Avon Park, is a non-profit organization that is a food pantry ministry supported completely by volunteers and generous donations from local residents, businesses, social groups, churches and the USDA. They provide free food, clothing and household goods for low income families, seniors, single parent families, battered women & children, those living with AIDS, newly released from prison or rehab, natural disaster victims and the homeless. When finances permit, they also provide assistance with utilities, rent, prescriptions and temporary shelter. In 2022, they fed over 20,000 people. Donations of money, food, clothing snd household goods are greatly appreciated, along with your prayers. Volunteers needed Tuesdays and Fridays 7:30-12:30 each week.
Parkway Food Ministry
Parkway Food Ministry is a food pantry in Sebring that feeds around 458 families each month. At this time, they are receiving food from Feed Tampa Bay and Lakeland Midwest Food Bank, but they must go and pick up the food. Their biggest expenses right now are the fuel for box truck and expenses to keep the food pantry open.
