Just a Thought: No matter who you are, you are important to God! In the beginning of our time, God created man. We did not evolve, we were created. And we were created in a special way for a special purpose. Moses gives us the account which God gave to him through the Holy Spirit (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pe. 1:19-21). Moses wrote, “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Gen 1:26-27) Man was the last creature created. We were created in the very image or essence of God. Of course, God does not have a body and we do. But we were made like Him in nature and attributes such as life, personality, truth, wisdom, love, holiness, justice, and to have the capacity for spiritual fellowship with Him. We alone were given the ability to have this. We were created and placed here for a special and divine purpose. We are to be God’s rulers and representatives here on earth. Now, because of sin, we have lost our dominion over all things. But Jesus upon His return will restore even that to Himself (Heb. 2:5-8). So, we are made in God’s image or likeness to have fellowship with Him and represent Him on the earth. Now, that is pretty special. Like the kings of the middle east who built statues of themselves to remind the people who was ruler, God has placed us on earth created in His image in the same manner. No matter who you are, you are important to God! Because you are a representative of God wherever you go or are. So, then the question becomes, what does God look like when people look at you? With such an important and impressive responsibility, don’t you think we need to make sure we can get it as right as possible? To do what we were created for right, we must start with our relationship and fellowship with God. Then by His Spirit in us and His life flowing through us, we can do what we were created to do correctly and properly. I am not special because of who I am. I am special because of who God made me to be! And I want to acknowledge I am to represent Him, His likeness and His presence wherever I am. Dear Lord, You made me in Your image, help me by the guidance of Your word and the power of the Holy Spirit, to live like it! Thank You, Lord, for making me special and making me especially for You and Your purpose. May I find my self-worth and value in being Your image. In Jesus name, amen.
