Just a Thought: You are so very special to God, He entrusted the whole earth to you. David was blown away by this concept. He was amazed. “God what is man that you would think so highly of Him, You would make him in Your image and place him in Charge of all of this?” (paraphrasing). Now I would like to ask you to do something today. I would like to ask you to stand in front of a mirror and see God. This may be hard at first because we really don’t think like this. But you have to look deeper than the vision of your face and body. You have to look into those eyes staring back at you and ask the Lord, “Lord, in what ways am I like You?” In what ways do I display your likeness?” We all know we have life, personality, the ability to think, do justice, and to be spiritual. We have something other creatures don’t. An eternal soul and the ability to fellowship with God in a personal way. Are those things present in the person in the mirror? Now, go outside and take in the wonder of all that is. The flowers, trees, birds of the air. And all the animals of the earth. Consider like David did, Lord who am I that You think I am so special to You that I should represent You here and You would entrust all of this to my care? We know when God created Adam and Eve, He made them perfect and placed them in charge. As their descendants and heirs of sin, we know we are not perfect nor do we have the dominion they were given. But God’s plans for them is no different than His plans for us. We too have been created and placed here to represent the Lord and care for His earth. Maybe we should just pause a moment today to ask how we are doing with the job we were created for? Maybe we should take some time today to ponder like David did, “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet:” (Ps 8:3-6) And may this thought process remind you, you are so very special to God, He entrusted the whole earth to you. Lord, as I am reminded today of Your love, care and thoughts toward me, I am reminded of how special I am to You. You have placed me here to know and walk with You. You have placed me here to represent You and care for Your amazing creation. As I look in the mirror and walk outside may I be reminded this life I live in this place is to be lived in harmony and fellowship with You. You made me for You and for this. Thank You, Lord, for thinking I am so special, You desire to have me do this with You! Thank you, Lord. In Jesus name, amen.
