Just a Thought: God knew us before we knew Him. Throughout the Bible several individuals were told by God that they were known and set a part before they were born by God. What this tells us are a number of things. First, if you were ever told you were a oops baby or an unplanned child. Let me be clear. You were not! Whether anyone else planned on you being here or not, God did! Our Lord doesn’t make mistakes; He is purposeful and methodical. With each person God told He knew and had set aside, He also informed them that He had a purpose and plan for their life before they were conceived in the womb. Second, The Lord has more than an intellectual knowledge of us before we are born. The gender reveal thing has become a big thing. What that is, is that a couple or the wife will host an event in which from something (cake, balloon, smoke, etc.) will reveal to those in attendance either the color blue or pink. This lets everyone know a baby is coming and it is a boy or girl. In that instant everyone knows about the baby before it is born. The Lord needs no gender reveal event to know us. He does not just know what we are, He knows who we are before we are born. And He knows all about us. He knows the thoughts and plans He has for us because He designed us! He has our protection, provision and purpose already laid out. Third, God desires to continue this close personal relationship with us after we are born in the same way He did beforehand. If we could grasp how wonderful it is for God to have planned us, designed us and desire to have a close intimate relationship with us, wouldn’t we want the same thing. They say a baby is born being able to recognize its mother’s voice. They have heard it from inside the womb. What if we would listen to hear the voice of God that has present from inside the womb. They say there is no greater bond than that of a mother and child. I beg to differ, the parent, child relationship God wants to share with us can be an even greater bond if we will acknowledge Him in this way. Imagine your story was Jeremiah’s story and the Lord said to you, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jer 1:5) Let me assure you today, it is! God knew us before we knew Him. You and I my friend, are no accident or unplanned birth. We are the product of God’s loving, purposeful, methodical plan And, He knew you intimately before you were born and desires to continue that relationship through our entire lives. How would you describe your relationship and walk with the one who formed you and called you from before you were born? Lord, there is a relationship that goes deeper than a mother and child. That relationship is the one You desire to have with me daily. Thank You for loving me, forming me and knowing me better than I know myself. I want to pursue knowing and walking with You intimately everyday so that I can live out the plans and purpose You have for me. In Jesus name, amen.
