Just a Thought: You are of such worth and value, that you are always on God’s mind. Don’t move on until you re-read that statement several times. Let it sink in. Maybe you think you’re not worth much. Maybe others have devalued you. Maybe today you suffer from a lack of self- esteem. Well, let me assure you there is one to whom you have extreme value! There is one who thinks about you all the time. There is one to whom you are so valuable, He paid the price for you of His only begotten son (Jn. 3:16). The psalmist was completely captivated by this idea. He writes, “How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!” (Ps 139:17) Think about this. Many of us can do one thing well at a time. Some can handle multiple tasks. But the Lord can and doses focus on us while handling everything else He does at one time. He is all present, all knowing and all powerful. But, when we think of God, we must also understand He is an individual and intimate God. He doesn’t just know all things, He knows me. He isn’t just all present, He is present with me. He isn’t just all powerful, He is all powerful in my life and situation. And, He doesn’t just know about me, He knows me better than I know myself! I am always on God’s mind! When the Psalmist thinks of how God thinks of him, he thinks of the sum or innumerable thoughts God has toward him. In other words, we are not a passing or a past thought of the Lord’s, we are a present thought and focus of the Lord. What if the Lord was on our mind like we are on His? What if we continually thought about the Lord throughout the day? What if our mind was stayed on Him like His is stayed on us? Well, in fact there is the promise of perfect peace for those who operate this way (Isa. 26:3). Let that one sink in. If I am always on the Lord’s mind, this means He is always wanting to lead me, protect me and provide for me with the life He designed me to have. And if I would think about Him as much as He thinks about me, I would have no fear, no worry, no stress, no doubts and no struggles with self-worth or value. Why? because He would replace all of that with His perfect peace! So, let me remind us once more, you are of such worth and value, that you are always on God’s mind! And He desires that we would make Him our focus as well. What in your daily life would change drastically if you thought about the Lord as much as He thinks about you? I would wager to say, EVERYTHING! Dear Lord, I cannot even phantom the idea that I am of such value and worth to You, that you are always thinking of me. But Your word assures me that You are not only constantly thinking of me. But that You have many thoughts and good thoughts toward me. Father, help me to focus my mind on You as You do Your mind on me. And as I do, You will place in me Your perfect peace. Thank You, Lord, for Your amazing love for me. Let my life reflect the understanding that I am always on Your mind, and You are always on mine. In Jesus name, amen.
